Description

Oil painting on wooden pannel (unalit). Framed by the artist with wooden rods. Signed and dated upper left "Vlerick 1963". Inscription "Atelier - Pierre Vlerick 1963, Gand" at the back of the painting. 


Pierre Vlerick, born in Ghent, 29 October 1923.
Studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Ghent, departments Applied Decorative Arts, Sculpture, Drawing, Sketching after model, Etching, Painting. Gold Medal Laureate.
Stay in Paris, 1947-1948, studies at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.
Teacher: O.Friesz.
From 1961 to 1968: Teacher at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, department of Etching. Coordinator of exhibitions at the Cultural Centre St. Petiersabdij, Ghent.
In 1963, within the framework of the " Fullbright United Educational Foundation ", teacher at the Fine Arts Museum School , Harvard University, Boston, Mass., USA. 
In 1966, guest lecturer at the University of Sussex, Brighton, England, on the occasion of the exhibition "5 Belgian painters".
In 1968, guest lecturer at the Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro.
From 1968, director of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Ghent.
From 1988, honorary director of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Ghent.

Delivery

 

WeArt is committed to offer its buyers a safe and flexible shipment.

 

We have partnered with DHL for a smooth and easy delivery worldwide.

 

Our aim is to have delivery accomplished for parcels sent within the European Union in a period of 14 business days upon reception of the payment and 21 working days for delivery outside the European Union. The delivery may be delayed due to independent or external factors (export or import licence / administrative authorization / complicated or delicate packing etc).  

 

Items that are stored at our premises in Brussels, can be directly collected for free. Storage costs will be applied after one month’s time starting on the day of the payment. At step 2 of your purchase process it is shown whether the purchased item is stored at our Brussels location. You will then be able to opt for personal pickup or transport via UPS.

Return & Cancellation

 

Satisfaction is important to us. 

 

We want you to be totally satisfied with your purchase. If unhappy, you have 14 days, starting from the day of delivery, to return an item. No penalty will be asked, neither the reason why you wish to return an item.
